We appreciate everyone has different viewpoints, and for personal or ethical reasons, some folks prefer not to use genuine leather. That is why we're pleased to offer almost all of our products in "leatherette" (i.e. synthetic leather) as well. Leatherette is a form of artificial leather, made by covering a fabric base with plastic.
A disadvantage of plastic "leatherette" is that it is not porous and does not allow air to pass through it; thus, sweat can accumulate. One of its primary advantages, however, is that it requires little maintenance in comparison to leather, and does not crack or fade as easily. Also, it is much cheaper.
